About The Position

Catalent’s Madison, Wisconsin site is a state‑of‑the‑art biologics development and manufacturing facility supporting customers from research through early‑ and mid‑stage clinical production. Located at 726 Heartland Trail in Madison, the approximately 102,700‑square‑foot GMP facility specializes in mammalian cell line engineering, drug substance biomanufacturing, and biopharmaceutical development, utilizing flexible single‑use systems to enable rapid scale‑up and customization. The site is home to Catalent’s proprietary GPEx® and GPEx® Lightning technologies, which are used to generate high‑yielding mammalian cell lines for biologic therapies, and supports production scales ranging from 50 to 4,000 liters for clinical manufacturing. Following a $45 million expansion announced in 2025, the Madison site has significantly increased capacity, added new equipment, and created approximately 200 highly skilled biohealth jobs, further strengthening its role within Catalent’s global biologics network and Wisconsin’s growing life sciences ecosystem. We have an opportunity for a Specialist I - Materials Management to join our team. This role supports warehouse operations, inventory control, and shipping activities in a dynamic environment. You will work with a collaborative team to ensure timely and accurate handling of materials while maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards. This position offers the chance to contribute to critical processes that support the development and manufacturing of life-changing biologics.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Wisconsin driver's license. Ability to operate company owned transport vehicle as requested.
  • 1+ years of relevant work experience in a shipping, material operation’s environment
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled laboratory environment and requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, computer use, reading, writing, speaking, and reaching; occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, carrying, and grasping; and lifting up to 10 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
  • The role requires compliance with all EHS responsibilities and adherence to safety procedures when working with laboratory hazards, including skin and lung irritants, electrical equipment, sharp instruments, toxic materials, hazardous waste, and clean room gowning requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience operating warehouse equipment handheld scanners, forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.) preferred
  • Prior cold storage material handling and alarm system monitoring preferred
  • Prior pharmaceutical or food manufacturing/processing, & cGMP experience, preferred
  • Prior computerized inventory management system knowledge, JD Edwards knowledge preferred
  • Prior DOT and IATA training preferred
  • Knowledge of International documentation compliance, INCO Terms, CI, HTS code, SLI and DG
  • Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and MS Teams knowledge preferred
  • Proven ability to multi-task and demonstrate diplomatic skills

Responsibilities

  • Using FEFO basis, pick, stock, verify, identify inventory, or deliver materials as needed
  • Accurately pick, pack, ship and document all orders to meet customer order fulfilment requirements.
  • Support Freezer/Cooler PMs as needed
  • Achieve and maintain zero shipping errors and zero inventory variances
  • Manage and prepare domestic and international ambient and temperature-controlled shipments for delivery as requested.
  • Participate in daily/annual inventory cycle count activities as requested
  • Maintain an orderly, organized, and safe work area and the ability to work overtime as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
