The HR Data & Benefits Specialists reports to the HR Manager, US Engineering and works closely with the Corporate Shared Services Groups, HR & Finance Department. This position is responsible for supporting the implementation, administration, and communication of the organization's benefits programs. Additionally, this position will act as a payroll liaison ensuring all payroll-related tasks are completed accurately and on time. This includes overseeing the submission of employee time and leave information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or related field
  • Proven experience as a Payroll and Benefits Specialist or in a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll processing, tax regulations, and benefits administration.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and knowledge of HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, Dayforce).

  • Strong understanding of HR and payroll systems, software, and processes (Workday, Dayforce)
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to perform complex numerical calculations.
  • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data cleanup) and comfort handling large datasets
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for employee payroll and benefits inquiries.
  • Provide timely and accurate issue resolution with a focus on customer service.
  • Maintain and update employee records to ensure payroll and benefits data accuracy.
  • Lead employee communications for change management initiatives, including drafting and distributing required notices for payroll and benefits.
  • Administer employee leave programs including FMLA, short-term disability (STD), long-term disability (LTD), parental leave, and other statutory or company-sponsored leave types.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees and managers regarding leave policies, eligibility, documentation, and status updates.
  • Coordinate with payroll and benefits teams to ensure accurate processing of leave-related pay and benefits adjustments.
  • Monitor compliance with federal and state leave regulations and maintain accurate leave records.
  • Support return-to-work processes and ensure seamless reintegration of employees post-leave.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Monitor legislative changes affecting payroll and benefits.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance to reconcile data, resolve discrepancies, and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Support audits and regulatory filings.
  • Assist in developing and implementing payroll and benefit policies and procedures.
  • Manage employee benefits programs including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.
  • Administer and audit benefits such as medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and wellness.
  • Lead division open enrollment, qualifying life events, and COBRA tracking.
  • Coordinate wellness activities with the vendors and take lead in organizing programs.
  • Ensure compliance with ACA, MHPAEA, and other applicable regulations
  • Maintain employee records in HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, Dayforce).
  • Ensure updates to job status, compensation, and personal data are accurate and timely.
  • Support audits and ensure compliance with relevant labor laws and internal controls.
