About The Position

The Specialist, Field Education and Sales Enablement (Spine) – Core & Enabling Technologies supports the execution of clinical and technical training programs for internal customers—including the DePuy Synthes Spine Field Sales Organization, field clinical specialists, sales associates, and distributors—on spine anatomy, procedures, portfolio components, and clinical implementation. This role focuses on preparing, facilitating, and supporting hands-on learning experiences (in a clinical and non-clinical setting) that build foundational and applied knowledge of the DePuy Synthes Spine Core portfolio and Enabling Technologies (including VELYS Spine Robotics and TELIGEN Advanced Visualization). Working under the guidance of the Senior Manager and cross-functional education partners, the Specialist, Field Education supports standardized training protocols, assists with learner readiness documentation, and contributes to consistent execution of local, regional, and national training programs. This individual helps prepare training environments, supports learner engagement, and ensures equipment and materials are ready for hands-on clinical and technical education. The Specialist, Field Education, partners with Commercial Education, Professional Education, Marketing, Sales, and other stakeholders to support field sales training (inside and outside of the OR) and education initiatives, with a focus on reliable execution, learner support, and operational readiness. This role requires a detail-oriented, collaborative individual with strong communication skills and a passion for teaching, coaching, and adult learning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required (e.g., Business, Life Sciences, Education, or related discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years in healthcare or related commercial roles, such as Sales, Sales Training, Professional Education, Marketing, or field-based clinical education.
  • Strong working knowledge of orthopaedics, spine, or medical device procedures and terminology inside and outside of the operating room.
  • Experience supporting training, education, product demonstrations, labs, workshops, or field-based learning activities using multiple learning modalities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Digital literacy and proficiency with MS Office.
  • English required; additional languages preferred
  • Up to 50% of business travel will be required.
  • Valid driver’s license required

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on support for Core Portfolio and Enabling Technology training experiences across clinical and non-clinical settings, including intra-operative Enabling Technology support, lab/mobile-lab, and institute-based education programs as applicable.
  • Supports Field Education, Commercial Education, Professional Education, US Sales, Regional Marketing, and other cross-functional partners in executing training plans and programs that address internal field sales learning needs (clinical and sales oriented) and business objectives.
  • Facilitate didactic and hands-on training sessions aligned with approved commercial and educational strategies.
  • Support internal sales readiness by helping learners build foundational understanding of spine anatomy, procedures, clinical concepts, products, enabling technologies, business practices, and selling skills, including customer discovery, needs assessment, value communication, objection handling, competitive positioning, and compliant execution of effective customer conversations relevant to commercial sales roles.
  • Track learner participation, maintain training documentation, and provide readiness feedback to Managers or program leads in alignment with defined curriculum requirements and compliance expectations.
  • Support regional sales, education, and marketing partners in coordinating learning activities that help reinforce adoption of the DePuy Synthes Spine Core portfolio and Enabling Technologies.
  • Partner with Professional Education and HCP faculty, when appropriate, to support hands-on training events and learner engagement based on participant learning objectives and experience levels.
  • Capture learner feedback, training observations, and logistical insights to help inform continuous improvement of training content and educational materials.
  • Support incorporation of procedural standards and best practices into training activities by following approved materials and escalating content needs or opportunities to program leads.
  • Support on-site preparation and execution of training events, including logistics, room set-up, equipment readiness, and adherence to lab or venue requirements.
  • Reinforce approved clinical and portfolio application concepts during training activities, including indications, workflow, procedural fit, and differentiated value, to support effective customer conversations by the field sales organization.
  • Assist with training instrument and technology inventory, including preparation, packing of shipment, return, inspection, and appropriate handling of reusable and single-use materials.
  • Support preparation for international market portfolio and technology launch training activities, as needed and under direction of program leads.
