Requirements

• Eligible to obtain and maintain a RAIC.
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Natural Resources, or a related field is required. Extensive professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education if demonstrated through a consistent record of high-impact contributions.
• Minimum 6–8 years of progressive experience in environmental site assessments, contaminated sites management, remediation, or environmental consulting.
• Registered professional designation (P.Eng., P.Ag., P.Bio, or equivalent) is required.
• Strong technical writing and regulatory expertise to analyze and interpret soil, groundwater, and vapour data; apply contaminated sites legislation to airport‑specific contexts; and prepare clear, defensible technical summaries, recommendations, and regulatory submissions while effectively communicating with regulators and internal stakeholders.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and analytical problem‑solving skills with the ability to translate complex technical and regulatory information into clear, decision‑ready guidance; exercise sound professional judgment in ambiguous site conditions; collaborate across disciplines to integrate contaminated site considerations; and effectively manage multiple projects, consultants, stakeholders, and regulatory timelines simultaneously.
• Willingness to provide occasional after‑hours support for time‑sensitive site issues or discoveries during construction.
• Candidates must successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing as part of the hiring process.
• Candidates will be required to provide a valid Class 5 driver’s license and a current driver’s abstract as part of the hiring process.

• Bilingual in English and French
• Experience working in a complex, regulated environment (e.g., aviation, transportation, infrastructure, government, or industrial facilities) is an asset.
• EP® (Environmental Professional) designation is an asset.
• Strong working knowledge of Canadian environmental legislation, regulatory frameworks, and permitting processes is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead Phase I, Phase II, and targeted Environmental Site Assessments for capital projects, tenant developments, real estate transactions, and operational activities.
• Manage contaminated sites through maintenance of inventories, Site Management Plans, and oversight of remediation, risk management, and monitoring programs.
• Provide environmental site assessment input to capital projects and developments, identifying contamination risks and regulatory triggers early to support timely delivery.
• Interpret and apply contaminated site legislation, guidelines, and standards, ensuring regulatory compliance and defensible technical decisions.
• Coordinate with environmental regulators and support regulatory reporting, submissions, and site closure activities.
• Maintain accurate environmental records and contribute to continuous improvement of internal procedures, standards, and technical guidance.
