Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
EPA Universal Certification required.
Minimum of 5-7 years of HVAC experience.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

Technical school or HVAC certification preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or lead technician experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, controls, boilers, chillers, rooftop units (RTUs), and refrigeration equipment.
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
Knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS) and energy management systems.
Experience with preventive maintenance software or CMMS.
Journeyman or Master HVAC license, where applicable.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Leadership and team development abilities.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with HVAC diagnostic tools and test equipment.
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and CMMS software.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and enter confined spaces.
Ability to work in varying weather conditions and mechanical spaces.
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
On-call rotations and emergency response may be required.
Exposure to electrical equipment, moving machinery, and varying temperatures.

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor HVAC technicians and apprentices.
Assign daily work schedules and prioritize maintenance and repair activities.
Provide technical support and training to team members.
Ensure all work is completed according to company standards and industry best practices.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems.
Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on HVAC equipment.
Inspect and test systems to verify proper operation and efficiency.
Respond to emergency service calls and critical equipment failures.
Oversee HVAC equipment installations, replacements, and upgrades.
Review blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
Ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and facility personnel.
Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, EPA requirements, and company safety policies.
Maintain proper documentation of inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
Conduct safety meetings and promote a culture of workplace safety.
Ensure technicians utilize proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
Communicate effectively with customers, facility managers, and stakeholders.
Provide recommendations for equipment improvements and energy efficiency initiatives.
Assist with budgeting and planning for HVAC system upgrades and replacements.
