About The Position

The Electrical Engineering Specialist will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for the integration of electronic equipment on military/commercial aircraft and ground stations. Designs can include development of Avionics Systems, RF, LAN, Data Processing, Sensor Systems, Power Distribution Systems, Electrical Loads analysis, Load shedding scheme to name a few, along with the opportunity to support testing and integration of systems on the aircraft. The role involves working on a wide variety of tasks and aircraft systems on various aircraft platforms. The position requires the ability to travel to and from flight line and work in aircraft hangar environments, with some positions requiring the ability to board/exit aircraft. A DoD security clearance must be obtainable and maintainable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with four (4) years of design and developing electrical systems for the integration of electronic equipment on Military and/or commercial aircraft and ground stations.
  • Graduate Degree with two (2) years of design and developing electrical systems for the integration of electronic equipment on Military and/or commercial aircraft and ground stations.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of eight (8) years of design and developing electrical systems for the integration of electronic equipment on Military and/or commercial aircraft and ground stations.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Nice To Haves

  • Active Secret Clearance or higher.

Responsibilities

  • Create and review system wiring diagrams, circuit breaker panels, control panels and other items using CAD (Computer Aided Design) tools, such as Capital Harness or NX.
  • Research and preparation of engineering drawings, and coordination of design activities with Systems Engineering, Manufacturing, and Production to ensure that designs meet requirements at minimum cost.
  • Lead a small team of electrical design engineers to implement electronic subsystems by breaking down requirements and work packages, providing drawing status, and budget estimates to platform leads.
  • Train and mentor junior engineers.
  • Learn and become familiar with L3Harris Technical Process Specifications and related design practices and methodologies.
  • Support testing and integration of systems on the aircraft.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
