Requirements

  • Active Registered Dental Assistant License
  • Current CPR certification
  • Minimum of 1 year of dental experience
  • Must be willing to travel within assigned areas

Responsibilities

  • Advanced Clinical Assisting: Efficiently assist the specialist with complex procedures (e.g., surgeries, root canals, implant placement) by anticipating needs and passing specialized instruments.
  • Procedural Maintenance: Maintain a clean and clear operating field using suction, irrigation, and retraction techniques.
  • Specialized Setup: Prepare and mix specialty-specific materials, such as bone grafts, impression materials, and sealers.
  • Equipment Operation: Set up, operate, and troubleshoot equipment specific to the specialty (e.g., operating microscopes, 3D/CBCT scanners, ultrasonic units).
  • Sterilization & Infection Control: Ensure all specialized instruments are meticulously counted, cleaned, and sterilized according to strict regulatory standards.
  • Radiography: Take, process, and prepare high-quality, specialty-specific dental radiographs and images for the specialist's review.
  • Patient Education: Deliver detailed pre- and post-operative instructions tailored to the specialty procedure.
  • Patient Support: Prepare the patient for the procedure, provide comfort and support, and help manage anxiety.
  • Documentation: Accurately document all clinical findings, procedures, materials used, and patient information in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Inventory Management: Track and manage the inventory of specialized supplies and materials to ensure the clinical area is always prepared.
  • Greeting guests with a smile.
  • Assisting Specialist with procedures.
  • Sterilizing instruments and setting up trays.
  • Preparing treatment rooms.
  • Performing X-rays.
  • Charting existing and recommended treatments.
  • Performing other duties as required to support the office and Specialty team.
