About The Position

This role is for a Specialist-Clinical Coding II, with a hybrid work arrangement requiring the employee to reside in Indiana. The schedule is for days, with potential for varying hours. Preferred specialty experience includes OB/GYN coding and both inpatient (IP) and outpatient (OP) coding. The position outlines benchmarks for success within the first year, progressing from onboarding and initial coding responsibilities to independently coding complex cases and functioning fully within the role. Requirements

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• RHIT or CCS credential required.
• Requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in ICD-9; CPT code assignment and APC grouping.
• Requires ability to read, understand and interpret medical records and other treatment documentation.
• Requires high level of concentration.
• Requires the ability to function effectively in a high-volume environment.
• Requires effective written and verbal communication skills to communicate with physicians.

Responsibilities

• Review clinical documentation and diagnostic results
• Assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, & HCPCS codes
• Ensure accurate APC assignment
• Resolve pre-bill coding edits
• Work coding-related denials
• Maintain coding quality, productivity, and compliance standards
• Provide operational support as needed to remain current on workflows and functions
