About The Position

This is a professional role requiring strong knowledge of automation engineering and project management. The Specialist, Automation Engineer will manage complex projects or processes with general oversight, communicating within and outside their function to gain cooperation on operational processes, practices, and procedures. This role involves making moderate to substantial improvements to systems and processes, contributing directly to departmental goals and operating plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience.
• Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
• In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

Nice To Haves

• Experience automating solid rocket motor manufacturing processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Experience with automating manual manufacturing processes.
• Experience developing SOW’s.

Responsibilities

• Generating scope of work (SOW) documentation for purchasing new automation.
• Project management of equipment design, build, installation and validation of new automation.
• Receiving Scope of Work from Manufacturing Engineers and developing a controls solution to address the scope of work.
