About The Position
At DICK’S Sporting Goods, the Specialist – Apparel helps athletes find apparel for performance and everyday wear by combining product and merchandise expertise with strong customer service. The role delivers engaging, confidence-building shopping experiences and supports sales through knowledgeable recommendations based on athletes’ needs. The Specialist also serves as a subject matter expert in their store area, helping onboard and train team members and supporting effective operational processes. The position maintains merchandise presentation and replenishment standards, promotes company programs, and contributes to a welcoming, respectful, safe store environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1–3 years of experience.

Responsibilities
- Proactively engage athletes to understand their shopping needs and deliver an outstanding shopping experience.
- Provide clear, accurate, and knowledgeable information about products and assortment.
- Anticipate athlete needs and drive sales through product and service recommendations.
- Assist with onboarding and training new and existing team members, sharing best practices, selling skills, and operational processes.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in designated process categories to support smooth execution and productivity.
- Execute processes efficiently while ensuring products are ready for purchase and athletes are engaged as they prefer.
- Maintain company merchandising and presentation standards, including floor sets, signage, price changes, inventory presentation, and replenishment.
- Promote customer participation in company programs, including loyalty, warranty sales, and private-label credit card enrollment.
- Help create a welcoming and respectful environment for teammates and athletes.
- Follow safety, loss-prevention, and standard operating procedures, as well as applicable laws and external governing guidelines.
