About The Position

This position supports the coordination and implementation of Continuing Education division courses and programs as needed. The Specialist, Advanced Manufacturing will provide support services for Continuing Education division courses and programs, including instruction, course development, lab setup, and schedule coordination for the advanced manufacturing department. The role involves developing course curricula, evaluating courses and instructors, and serving as a communications liaison with students and instructors. Additionally, the Specialist will schedule courses, develop lab activities, and create advertising materials for the department.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Electromechanical systems and processes.
  • Knowledge of Electronics and automation systems
  • Knowledge of Instructional practices.
  • Knowledge of curriculum development process.
  • Maintain an established yet flexible work schedule, including some evenings and weekends.
  • Effectively use interpersonal and communication skills, including tact and diplomacy.
  • Effectively use organization and planning skills, with attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Creating electronic presentations, information packages, and activity schedules.
  • Work collaboratively with others.
  • Maintain confidentiality of work-related information and materials.
  • Establish and maintain effective internal and external working relationships.
  • Work safely and follow safety rules.
  • Report unsafe working conditions and behavior.
  • Take reasonable and prudent actions to prevent others from engaging in unsafe practices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support services for Continuing Education division courses and programs, including Instruction, course development, lab setup and schedule coordination for the advanced manufacturing department.
  • Develop course curricula as assigned by coordinator or director of the programs
  • Evaluate courses and instructors for upcoming sessions
  • Communicates with instructors to monitor current and future classes.
  • Serve as communications liaison with potential Continuing Education division course and program students and instructors.
  • Provide information regarding courses and program offerings.
  • Schedule Continuing Education division courses and programs based on projects, grants, contracts and other initiatives.
  • Develop lab activities as assigned.
  • Develop advertising materials for the department.
