About The Position

We are looking for a motivated actuary to join the Americas Property Pricing team. You will be the pricing lead for the Excess and Surplus Property portfolio and will also support overall global and Americas Property pricing team activities. We are seeking a credentialed actuary with relevant experience to ensure AXA XL remains a leader in the field of property technical pricing and portfolio management and guide junior team members. The successful candidate will be highly driven, able to effectively communicate across functions with technical skills to support evolving pricing and analytic needs to drive profitability. The primary role location is in Exton, PA, USA but open to candidates in NYC, Boston, or Hartford.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Applied Math, Statistics, or related field
  • Qualification level – Qualified actuary through the Casualty Actuarial Society
  • Material experience in Property & Casualty actuarial pricing or reserving
  • Motivated, strategic thinker with a robust collaborative work ethic and a focus on quality and integrity
  • Advanced in and significant experience in Excel
  • Legally authorized to work in the posting country

Responsibilities

  • Portfolio management activities including selection of base loss ratio for business planning, profitability studies & deep dives, pricing metrics reporting, portfolio segmentation, and dashboard development and maintenance.
  • Pricing tool data collection oversight, analysis, quality checking, and reporting.
  • Adhere to and comply with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
  • Builds robust stakeholder relationships and is dedicated to understanding and meeting their needs.
  • Provide specialized training to underwriters on pricing matters, ensuring the team is equipped with the necessary tools and knowledge to make informed decisions.
  • Leverage new technologies and analytical tools to improve pricing models and processes, ensuring the team stays competitive in the market.
  • Engage closely with teams for pricing accuracy and operational alignment including but not limited to: Governance, CUO, Underwriting, Reserving, Claims, Models & Analytics, IT, Compliance, etc.
  • Support the development, testing, calibration, and maintenance of pricing models and complex rating algorithms, including studies on pricing parameters, change impacts, and documentation.
  • Leverage other AXA XL capabilities, e.g. Geospatial Underwriting, Risk Consulting, Risk Management, IDA and Global Technology
