Special Treatment Program Counselor
About The Position
The Special Treatment Program Counselor provides quality care/treatment to residents diagnosed with mental illness. The Special Treatment Program Counselor works in conjunction with other departments to provide a therapeutic yet homelike environment as we strive towards assisting our residents to meet their goals. Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs) / Special Treatment Programs (STPs) provide behavioral intervention to consumers with mental disorders in secure residential settings. Services include behavior modification, skilled nursing, prevocational and life skills training, recreation, and rehabilitation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in psychology or another related field.
- Ability to effectively communicate, via written and verbal methods, with residents, employees, and outside agencies.
