About The Position
Applied Technical Services (ATS) is seeking a Spring 2027 Special Testing intern for its Testing team in Marietta, Georgia. The internship runs from January through April 2027 and includes hands-on testing lab work. The intern will help develop, optimize, and implement test projects and procedures while gaining experience in the testing industry. ATS has provided testing and technical services since 1967, including Metallurgy and Materials Testing, Chemical Analysis, Nondestructive Testing, Forensic and Consulting Engineering, Mechanical Testing, and Calibration Services. Applicants must be U.S. Persons because the position requires access to information subject to U.S. export controls under ITAR.
Requirements
- Be a full-time student pursuing a bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related STEM field.
- Have an interest in materials testing, product testing, or engineering services.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
- Be eager to learn, contribute ideas, and support engineers with testing activities and documentation.
- Be a U.S. Person, as defined in the job posting, due to ITAR export-control requirements.
Responsibilities
- Work with leadership to support the development and documentation of standard procedures for ASTM test methods.
- Perform or support materials testing, product life cycle testing, and destructive evaluation tests.
- Learn and apply appropriate ASTM test specifications.
- Support engineers with testing activities and documentation.
