About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Special Security Technician for a USSPACECOM program in Huntsville, AL. This role involves assisting the Special Security Officer (SSO) in managing access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and SCI Facilities (SCIFs), processing visitor clearances, conducting security briefings and training, and managing SCI position and eligibility requests. The technician will also serve as a Controlled Access Program (CAP) security specialist, developing and implementing program protection requirements to safeguard vital command information, operations, technologies, and systems. This includes providing expertise on CAP, Special Access Program (SAP), and Special Access Required (SAR) policies and procedures, and recommending security measures throughout the program lifecycle. The role also entails training and managing personnel on program protection requirements and processes, and delivering security operations analysis and recommendations in appropriate formats. Additional duties may include auditing classified materials, inspecting storage facilities and SCIFs, and researching and preparing policy recommendations and reports.

Requirements

  • Must possess a Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility and the ability to obtain a polygraph
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
  • At least eight years of relevant experience

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Special Security Officer (SSO) to ensure control of access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and SCI Facilities (SCIFs)
  • Certifying and receiving SCI visitor clearances / accesses
  • Conducts SCI security briefings, indoctrinations, debriefings, training on classified material / SSO-related material and topics
  • Obtains signed nondisclosure agreements
  • Provides guidance and assistance for processing SCI position and eligibility requests for assigned military, Government and contractor personnel
  • Serves as a Controlled Access Program (CAP) security specialist for lifecycle program protection management for USSPACECOM and implements protocols to actively reduce the chances for espionage, terrorism, and threats of unauthorized disclosure or compromise of information or material considered vital to command mission interests, national defense, or national security
  • Develops, implements, and integrates CAP program protection requirements supporting USSPACECOM essential program information, operations, technologies, and systems
  • As the CAP / Special Access Program (SAP) / Special Access Required (SAR) subject matter expert, provides detailed knowledge of DoD, IC, services, and mission partners' CAP / SAP / SAR policies, plans, and procedures
  • Recommends and executes "cradle to grave" security and program protection as it relates to USSPACECOM operations and equities
  • Trains and manages the daily development of associated personnel on individual CAP / SAP program protection requirements and processes as directed
  • Provides all CAP / SAP / SAR security operations, analysis decisions, and recommendations in appropriate formats to meet DoD and USSPACECOM requirements
  • Audits of classified material

  • Researching and preparing classified material-related policy and management recommendations, reports, and recommendations
