About The Position

Kansas Permanency Case Management is looking for full-time Special Response Specialists to add to their team. A High School diploma or GED and two years of experience in child and family services are required. As a Special Response Specialist, you will collaborate with case teams, Department for Children and Families (DCF), law enforcement, and other stakeholders in an effort to locate absent youth who are absent from placement. You will be reviewing case files, conducting social media searches and contacting family members and friends of the youth. You will engage with community partners and attend multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss strategies for locating and supporting these vulnerable youth. You'll complete Human Trafficking assessments when necessary, ensuring that all efforts are trauma-informed and culturally sensitive. Documenting your findings and maintaining close communication with agencies and families are crucial aspects of your role.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Two years of experience in child and family services
  • Passion for investigative work
  • Compassionate and empathetic for the challenges faced by youth in foster care
  • Organized
  • Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Desire to engage and advocate for at-risk youth
  • Self-starter dedicated to serving children and families
