About The Position

Kansas Permanency Case Management is seeking a full-time Special Response Specialist to join their team. This role involves collaborating with case teams, the Department for Children and Families (DCF), law enforcement, and other stakeholders to locate youth who are absent from placement. Responsibilities include reviewing case files, conducting social media searches, contacting family and friends, engaging with community partners, attending multidisciplinary team meetings, completing Human Trafficking assessments when necessary, ensuring trauma-informed and culturally sensitive approaches, documenting findings, and maintaining communication with agencies and families.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED
Two years of experience in child and family services
Passion for investigative work
Compassionate and empathetic for the challenges faced by youth in foster care
Organized
Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders
Desire to engage and advocate for at-risk youth
Self-starter
Dedicated to serving children and families
Complete a Predictive Index assessment

Responsibilities

Collaborate with case teams, Department for Children and Families (DCF), law enforcement, and other stakeholders in an effort to locate absent youth who are absent from placement.

Contact family members and friends of the youth.
Engage with community partners.
Attend multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss strategies for locating and supporting vulnerable youth.
Complete Human Trafficking assessments when necessary, ensuring that all efforts are trauma-informed and culturally sensitive.
Document findings.
Maintain close communication with agencies and families.
