About The Position

Oversees and manages special engineering projects from conception through completion. Coordinates cross-functional teams, develops project plans and schedules, ensures compliance with technical standards and regulations, monitors project progress, and resolves engineering challenges to achieve project goals efficiently and effectively. This role functions as a Flight Test Engineer for Predator/Reaper Development and Sustainment efforts, performing all facets of flight test planning and operations through execution, data collection, reduction and analysis, reporting writing and recommendations. The engineer will also function as a Project Engineer or site manager as tasked by the 645th AESG, and consult on, author and review Test Plans and Safety packages generated by the Air Force, Prime Weapon System contractor, and associated contractors, including attendance at Test Plan Working Group (TPWG) and Technical Interchange Meetings. The role involves interfacing with Predator/Reaper test agencies to support Test and Safety Plan approvals, communicate Program Office priorities, work daily scheduling issues, and lead Quick Reaction Capability (QRC) efforts. Additionally, the engineer will interface with the prime weapon system contractor(s) and subcontractors to balance and schedule sustainment modifications, maintenance and flight test requirements, review modification packages for air vehicles, ground control stations, and other support equipment, and facilitate scheduling unique test resources like range and weapons. Support for long-term scheduling of flight test activities, review of proposals for validity of flight test requirements, and support for program and project managers with test advice, recommended test priorities, resource planning and constraints, and inputs into deficiency identification and correction are also key functions. The role requires working system configurations and troubleshooting to support required sorties, and assessing and/or evaluating both subjective and objective data acquired through test execution. Other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Knowledge in Predator/Reaper test, should have a background in a combination of Development Test (DT), Operational Test (OT), Joint Operational Test and Evaluation(JOT&E)
  • Knowledge in Predator/Reaper SATCOM/Data link requirements
  • Knowledge in managing Predator/Reaper test operations
  • Knowledge of aircraft systems and safety
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years of experience of UAS development & test experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in DoD acquisitions.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a Top Secret/SCI DoD clearance, U.S. Citizenship required.
