The Innocence Project is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to exonerating innocent individuals through post-conviction DNA testing and advocating for policy reforms to prevent wrongful convictions and improve the criminal justice system. The Innocence Network is a coalition of over 70 independent organizations, educational institutions, and public defender's offices focused on freeing the wrongfully convicted and reforming the justice system. The Network Special Projects Intern will support the operational activities of the Innocence Network, reporting to the Innocence Network Coordinator and collaborating with the Network Support Unit. This internship offers exposure to non-profit management, event planning, and a national network of criminal legal reform organizations. The position is based in the Innocence Project office in lower Manhattan, requiring a minimum commitment of 16 hours per week starting in September 2026, with flexibility in schedule. The intern will also attend and assist with staffing the 2027 Innocence Network Conference in Anaheim, CA, a significant event for innocence attorneys, staff, exonerated individuals, and their families. Travel, accommodation, and meals for the conference will be covered by the Innocence Project. This is not a legal internship and is ideal for individuals pursuing careers in non-profit management.
