About The Position

The Special Programs GBD (Foster Care) Manager I is responsible for managing and overseeing a team that coordinates a comprehensive health care program. This program identifies member needs, including physical health, behavioral health, and social services for special products/programs such as long-term service and supports (LTSS), Foster Care, Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD), and HIV/AIDS. This is a field-based role, enabling associates to primarily operate in the field, traveling to client sites or designated locations as their role requires, with occasional office attendance for meetings or training. This approach ensures flexibility, responsiveness to client needs, and direct, hands-on engagement. Alternate locations may be considered if candidates reside within a commuting distance from an office. Requirements

  • Requires a BA/BS and minimum of 5 years' experience in a related field, including minimum of 1 year leadership/management experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Nice To Haves

  • Service delivery coordination, discharge planning or behavioral health experience in a managed care setting preferred.
  • RN, LSW, LPC, or LPN/LVN license preferred.
  • Experience working with Children, Youth, and Families who are being served by Local Departments of Social Services through Foster Care and Adoptive Assistance programs is very strongly preferred.
  • At least 2 years of managerial experience with direct reports is highly preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manages resource utilization to ensure appropriate delivery of care to members, adequate coverage for all tasks and job responsibilities.
  • Coordinates service delivery to include member assessment of physical and psychological factors.
  • Participates in cross-functional workgroups created to maintain and develop program.
  • Evaluates current processes of Special Program's support functions; recommends changes for increased efficiencies and improved outcomes.
  • Develops and conducts training programs for staff involved in the program.
  • Extracts and manipulates analytical data to present findings to relevant markets and stakeholders.
  • Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports.
