The City of Henderson is seeking to fill one (1) part-time vacancy for the classification of Special Programs and Services Officer in the Police Department. This role serves as a sworn law enforcement officer responsible for facilitating enforcement actions with probationers, making probable cause arrests, and performing related duties. The officer will supervise probationers and pre-trial releasees, promoting accountability and rehabilitation while supporting community safety. Responsibilities include conducting interviews, investigations, managing pre-trial and probation cases, administering DART (Drug and Alcohol Random Testing), and maintaining detailed case files. This is a part-time, non-PERS eligible position that does not qualify for employer-paid benefits, paid time off, wage increases, or union representation. It requires enrollment in the City's Alternate Retirement Systems (ARS). The work schedule will consist of an average of 19 hours per week, with potential for increase or decrease based on Department needs. A flexible work schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or extended hours, may be required.
