About The Position

Joining our team will provide you with the opportunity to assist physicians with minimally invasive diagnostic and interventional procedures using advanced imaging technology. You will prepare patients for procedures, operate imaging equipment, maintain a sterile environment, monitor patient status, and assist during examinations and treatments. Working closely with radiologists, cardiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare providers will allow you to contribute to achieving the best patient outcome.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or completion of an accredited 2-year program in a school of Radiologic Technology. (Required)
  • Able to perform interventional procedures in specified areas. (Required proficiency)
  • Clear knowledge of modality specific equipment, computers, Inventory systems, PACS, EMR and RIS. (Required proficiency)
  • Clear knowledge of image and exam protocols. (Required proficiency)
  • Uses a variety of equipment specific to the area, including single-plane and bi-plane angiographic equipment, power injectors, and various medical devices and computers. (Required proficiency)
  • Knowledge of proper sterile procedure technique, gowning and gloving, and infection control. (Required proficiency)
  • Must demonstrate effective organizational, written, and oral communication skills. (Required proficiency)
  • Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills. (Required proficiency)
  • Able to work independently and as a collaborative member of procedural team. (Required proficiency)
  • Able to troubleshoot and solve problems as they arise. (Required proficiency)
  • Registered Technologist Radiography (ARRT-R) Active certification from American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) (Required Upon Hire)
  • Active Ohio Department of Health (ODH) Radiographer License (Required Upon Hire)
  • Current BLS CPR certification (Required Upon Hire)

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years experience as a Registered technologist. (Preferred)
  • 1+ years as a registered Radiologic Technologist with IR experience (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates competency in patient positioning and technical imaging skills by producing a variety of radiographic procedures while maintaining the highest standards of age-specific patient care from neonates through geriatrics.
  • Uses administrative skills to contribute to the successful operation of the department by scanning all items in the inventory system and, entering and completing correct billing codes in the RIS and on the patient billing sheets.
  • Displays a commitment to Hospital mission and values by consistently adhering to hospital safety standards, following hospital and department SOPs, policies, and protocols, following guidelines for patient identification and safety, adhering to ALARA, Image Gently, and Image Wisely radiation and fluoroscopic safety standards, and maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with privacy laws (HIPAA) and facility policies.
  • Effectively follows directions to maintain compliance with State and Federal Agencies.
  • Effectively follows directions to maintain department readiness based on DNV standards.
  • Able to perform all applicable equipment Quality Control.
  • Accurately records all requested database/log records.
  • Maintains licensure and continuing education requirements.
  • Proficient at instructing students and new staff after 1 year of experience.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work independently.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
