The Special Procedures and Cath Lab Technologist will assist the Licensed Practitioner in the completion of fluoroscopic and specialized interventional and Neuro-Interventional procedures while using sterile technique. They prepare, administer and document activities related to medications and radiation exposure in accordance with federal and state laws, regulations or facility policy. This role performs high quality diagnostic vascular laboratory examinations using ultrasound and physiologic testing equipment to evaluate the cerebrovascular, peripheral arterial, and peripheral venous systems, adhering to exam protocols. The technologist prepares patients for procedures by explaining them and providing instructions, contacts referring physicians for clarification when necessary, and utilizes the hospital electronic medical record for patient information, preliminary reporting, and documentation of critical findings. They are expected to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner and demonstrate behaviors consistent with the Mission and Values of Bon Secours Mercy Health, adhering to all standards and policies regarding safety, infection control, and patient confidentiality. The role requires the ability to perform non-invasive vascular exams proficiently and demonstrate knowledge of vascular anatomy, exam procedures, interpretation criteria, and correlation of results with other hospital procedures.
