About The Position

Personnel member who supports the school in building the internal capacity to implement and sustain MTSS practices, including behavior and academic interventions, and coordinates the Roxboro Community School (RCS) 504, EL, and AIG programs. The Coordinator works with all staff to provide support for special populations of students to realize their full potential.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Continue to monitor and refine MTSS practices to ensure alignment with best practices, student needs, state law, and federal requirements.
  • Support MTSS implementation by working with RCS‘s Academic Coach to provide evidence-based professional development.
  • Meet with School Leadership Teams to assess needs and identify goals for MTSS implementation.
  • Support the collection and analysis of implementation data to ensure high fidelity in the implementation of MTSS activities/plans.
  • Support the creation of social-emotional and behavioral components and other related services within the MTSS model.
  • Provide reports to stakeholders.
  • Assist with developing and maintaining eligibility criteria for enrichment and intervention services.
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure support at the general education and special education levels.
  • Assist with integrating initiatives/services in MTSS problem-solving best practices.
  • Work with and meet regularly with staff to support them in providing direct services to eligible students.
  • Provide input toward the building of the master schedule.
  • Provide 504 compliance monitoring to ensure the School complies with federal and state laws, including maintaining up-to-date policies, non-discrimination statements, and accessible facilities.
  • Provide 504 case management by overseeing the referral, evaluation, and reevaluation process for students to determine eligibility.
  • Support teams in developing, implementing, and monitoring 504 plans for students.
  • Train staff on 504 regulations, responsibilities, and disability awareness.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for parents, staff, and the Office for Civil Rights (OCR) regarding 504 concerns.
  • Investigate complaints regarding discrimination, disability harassment, or violations of Section 504/ADA.
  • Support the 6th and 9th grades with administrative-related responsibilities, including, but not limited to, academic support, behavior support, and grade span transition.
  • Maintain and update AIG and EL plans as required by NC DPI.
  • Create annual student AIG/EL student plans.
  • Screen and identify potential AIG/EL students at the beginning of each academic year.
