The Special Operations Specialist is responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machines used for customized printing and cutting to fulfill customer requirements.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of materials, production processes, quality control, and completion of training.
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Outlook and RF Scanning
  • Communication Skills- Active Listening and Verbal Communication.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing dynamics.
  • Ability to work a consistent schedule.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Job requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks.
  • Ability to move freight, stock, or other materials weighing up to 50 lbs. to and from storage or production areas, by hand, trucks, or other equipment.
  • Ability to stand for sustained periods of time.
  • Visual acuity to examine or inspect material.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • At least 1 years’ experience related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up and operates various machines to spool, print, or cut product or material.
  • Reads work orders to determine product specifications or material requirements.
  • Installs, connects, and adjusts equipment per order requirements.
  • Positions, adjusts, and feeds material manually to complete orders.
  • Utilizes a variety of machines for maximum efficiency whenever possible.
  • Notifies supervisor of equipment malfunction.
  • Wears protective or safety equipment such as glasses or gloves when applicable.
  • Keeps area clean and tidy daily.
  • Cuts material according to customer specifications.
  • Maintains a thorough knowledge of material/machines.
  • Verifies job is within tolerance, otherwise adjusts accordingly.
  • Maintains database of stocked cut parts, when applicable.
  • Ensures that all the information per cut job is contained in SPC chart, when applicable.
  • Collects and inspects random samples during print runs to identify any necessary adjustments.
  • Verifies that the appropriate screen and ink meet the specifications for the given job.
  • Changes press plates as required.
  • Performs and adheres to the maintenance and clean-up procedure of print production equipment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by direct supervisor.
