The Psychological Mental Health Technician shall assist with the management and treatment of outpatient behavioral health activities. This role primarily involves providing a wide range of behavioral health interventions from prevention to treatment to individuals, under the supervision of a licensed professional. The technician will conduct intakes, assist with the care and treatment of psychiatric, drug, and alcohol patients, and counsel clients with personal, behavioral, or psychological problems. The role requires independent work, using judgment to apply guidelines, and referring unusual matters to a supervisor. Responsibilities include observing patient behavior, leading therapy sessions, completing intake interviews and required forms, collecting statistical data, administering psychological and psychophysiological tests, maintaining databases, preparing correspondence, developing program instructions, managing budgets, creating appointment templates, handling work orders and inventory, ensuring supply levels, gathering data for presentations, providing information to staff and members of the Command, interfacing with family support organizations, maintaining competency folders, coordinating case reviews, preparing reports, and maintaining a resource library. Services also extend to providing information on healthy family life and parenting skills.
