The Special Operations Psychological Mental Health Technician shall assist with the management and treatment of outpatient behavioral health activities. This role is primarily responsible, under the supervision of a licensed professional, for providing a wide range of behavioral health interventions from prevention to treatment to individuals. The technician will conduct intakes, assist with care and treatment of psychiatric, drug and alcohol patients, and counsel clients/patients with personal, behavioral or psychological problems. The role requires independent work, resolving issues using judgment and available guidelines, and referring unusual matters to a supervisor. Duties include observing patients, leading therapy sessions, completing intake interviews and forms, collecting statistical data, administering psychological and psychophysiological tests, maintaining databases, preparing correspondence, developing program instructions, managing budgets, creating appointment templates, placing maintenance work orders, managing inventory and supplies, gathering data for presentations, providing information to Command staff and personnel, interfacing with family support organizations, maintaining competency folders, coordinating case reviews, preparing reports, and maintaining a resource library. The technician will also provide services to families seeking information on healthy family life and parenting skills.
