About The Position

A caring family is seeking a kind, patient, and engaging support person for their 9-year-old autistic son. He is well-behaved, friendly, and a joy to be around. The role involves being a positive “buddy” for the child, supporting him as he builds social skills, confidence, and meaningful connections in the community. This includes engaging in everyday fun activities like exploring, visiting COSI, getting food, or simply hanging out.

Requirements

• 2 + years of experience caring for children (paid or unpaid) references
• Consistent, dependable communication
• Reliable transportation and a working cell phone
• A warm, encouraging presence

Nice To Haves

• Experience with children and/or autism is a plus (but not required for the right person)
• Comfortable being active and engaging in the community
• A genuine interest in building a trusting, supportive relationship

Responsibilities

• Engaging him in community outings and activities
• Supporting social interaction and communication in natural settings
