About The Position

The Special Needs Coordinator will help Cornerstone Church live out its mission of “Helping People Know Jesus and Make Him Known” by ensuring consistent, meaningful programming and experiences through Special Needs Ministry and NextGen events across all campuses. This role involves overseeing the implementation of the special needs ministry, developing and maintaining supportive environments for children and students with special needs, and managing a growth-oriented ministry aligned with the church's mission and vision. The coordinator will also be responsible for educating volunteer leaders, recruiting and training teams, and building a team that enables individuals with special needs to participate fully in NextGen programming.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in special education or relevant experience.
Relevant ministry/work experience.
Ministry or volunteer experience required.

Responsibilities

Oversee the implementation of the special needs ministry at Cornerstone campuses.
Develop, maintain, and staff environments that support the unique needs of children and students with special needs.
Manage a growth-oriented ministry with goals that align with the mission and vision of the church.
Develop Special Needs Leaders.
Educate volunteer leaders in NextGen Ministries and church-wide teams on the importance of individuals with special needs and how to effectively include them in our ministries.
Work with NextGen volunteers and ministry leaders to identify and serve individuals with special needs.
Present during ministry times to support the special needs volunteer team, connect with families, and help new families assimilate.
Recruit, process, and train volunteer teams to support our special needs families’ unique needs.
Build a team that enables all individuals with special needs to participate in NextGen programming at age-specific services and events.
Collaborate with NextGen team, both kids and students.
Participate in weekly NextGen staff meetings.
Participate in weekly staff prayer meetings and regularly scheduled staff meetings.
Participate in events & represent Cornerstone externally as needed.
