About The Position

We have an existing opening for an Investigator to join our Special Investigations Unit (SIU) on a full-time basis to cover the Greater Montreal area and its surroundings. ClaimsPro/IndemniPro's Special Investigations Unit (SIU), recognized in the property and casualty insurance industry, meets its clients' needs for special investigations. ClaimsPro/IndemniPro's Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is made up of Claims Adjusters trained in modern investigation methods who can handle complex and sensitive investigations in personal and commercial lines insurance. Our Claims Adjusters are mobile throughout the province and can gather all types of defensible and presentable evidence if claims cases go to court. The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) handles cases involving major fire losses, illegal activities such as drugs, money laundering and fronting, and theft of equipment and recreational vehicles. This team is skilled in a wide range of investigative techniques: Cognitive interviews, Interrogation of suspects, Interviews with vulnerable individuals, Witness statements, Scene examinations, Forensic evidence gathering, Electronic evidence gathering, Background checks, Financial investigations, Information gathering, Evidence research and analysis, Testifying in court.

Requirements

  • Must hold an AMF-certified claims adjuster license.
  • More than 5 years of experience in investigating insurance claims, theft, fire, coverage, etc.
  • Post-secondary education or equivalency in training
  • Computer literacy and ability to learn new programs
  • Valid Claims Adjuster license
  • Willingness to travel within Quebec
  • Valid Driver's license
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Practiced in active listening and summarizing evidence and analytical assessments to provide solid and supportable conclusions/actions when required
  • Experienced in preparing and conducting recorded interviews
  • Ability to professionally and tactfully handle difficult conversations and confrontation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Above-average analytical and writing skills
  • Comfortable with discussing and providing solutions or recommendations to clients
  • Reading and understanding regulations/policies and applying them to investigations
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and French.
