About The Position

The University of Arkansas Community College at Hope-Texarkana (UACCHT) is seeking a Special Instructor/Trainer. This is a fixed-term position with less than an annual appointment. The role involves demonstrating commitment to academic achievement, fostering collegiality, promoting high-level performance from students, and establishing an orderly and supportive classroom environment. The instructor will prepare subject lesson plans, reflect accommodations for different learning styles, use technology to enhance teaching and learning, conduct ongoing student assessments, and participate in staff development activities. Responsibilities also include compiling and maintaining reports, attending faculty meetings, serving on committees, and completing required annual professional development training. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Valid Arkansas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned.
Adult Education endorsement required within three years of employment.

Establish and maintain an orderly and supportive classroom environment in which learners actively participate and show respect for one another and the instructor.
Prepare subject lesson plans utilizing the College & Career Readiness standards; submit plans as requested.
Prepare and execute lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles.
Use technology to strengthen the teaching and learning process; use technology to supplement instruction through distance learning.
Conduct and arrange ongoing assessment of students' achievement through formal or informal testing.
Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.
Compile, maintain, and file all reports; submit weekly attendance records and other required documents.
Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as assigned.
Complete required annual professional development training as required by UAHT and AR Adult Education.
Other duties as assigned.
