About The Position

Intertek is seeking a Special Inspector to join their Building & Construction team in Tacoma, WA. This role involves providing special inspection services for projects in Tacoma and surrounding areas, with a scope that includes Reinforced Concrete, Structural Masonry, and Soil & Asphalt compaction testing. Requirements

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
2+ years experience in the Special Inspection or Construction Industry
ICC Reinforced Concrete
WABO Post-Installed Anchors
Nuclear Gauge Technician Certification (APNGA or equivalent)
ICC Soils or ability to acquire withing 3 months of hire
Valid WA Enhanced Driver’s License, equivalent Real ID, or valid Passport. Reliable driving record is required
Strong report writing, communication, and time management skills
Must be able to lift/carry 50lbs frequently
Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather.

Nice To Haves

5+ years experience in the Special Inspection or Construction Industry
ICC Soils
WABO Reinforced Concrete
WABO Structural Masonry
WABO Spray Applied Fire Resistive Materials or ability to acquire within 3 months of hire
WABO Fire-Resistant Penetrations and Joints or ability to acquire within 3 months of hire

Responsibilities

Perform inspections and testing in accordance with approved procedures, codes, and specifications
Prepare accurate daily field reports including description of work performed.
Professionally interface with onsite contractors to address issues and solve problems
