About The Position

Kleinfelder's Construction Services team is looking for a Special Inspector to join their growing team in the Central and Northern California offices. This role involves performing routine to complex inspection and testing of construction materials in the field to verify conformance to construction plans and specifications. The Special Inspector will also perform routine laboratory tests on soils and concrete, interact daily with owner and contractor teams, and prepare daily reports and data sheets. The company has a steady and growing backlog of work and is seeking individuals interested in building their career in construction inspection and materials testing.

Requirements

ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade I certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days).
Radiation Safety & Nuclear Density Gauge Operation Training (or ability to obtain within 60 days).
ICC Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days).
ICC Structural Masonry Special Inspector certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days).
Must be able to use a computer.
General knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook software.
Must have own vehicle.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Willing to travel throughout the Bay Area of California.
Must satisfactorily complete employment reference checks, verification of professional licensure and/or educational credentials, a motor vehicle report (MVR), and a comprehensive background check following an offer.

Responsibilities

Perform routine to complex inspection and testing of construction materials in the field.
Verify conformance to construction plans and specifications.
Perform routine laboratory tests on soils and concrete, including compaction curves and concrete compressive strength tests.
Interact daily with owner and contractor teams to inspect active work projects.
Prepare daily reports and data sheets.
Perform various tasks to meet client project goals.
