About The Position

SOCOTEC is a provider of niche consulting services within the architecture, engineering and construction industries focusing on high-performance buildings and specialty structures. Through an integrated, holistic approach, our professionals provide solutions for building envelope, energy efficiency, sustainability, code advisory and construction advisory projects. FTC has immediate opportunities for experienced Special Inspectors and Field Engineers to be part of our team. This role involves completing assigned inspections as scheduled, performing inspections according to NYS DOB code and approved drawings, and submitting reports. The usual schedule is 11pm-7am, but hours may vary from 3pm onward. All other duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager are also part of the role.

Requirements

Certifications from ICC, AWS, NICET and/or ACI
ICC Commercial or Residential Certification required.
Familiarity with the New York City Building Code
Ability to read prints and find inspection locations
Ability to produce inspection reports according to company standards
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Reliable means of transportation necessary.
Extensive knowledge of industry standards
Punctual, reliable with good attention to detail
Ability to work various shifts
Highly motivated team player with a strong work ethic
Able to communicate effectively with a variety of project managers
Organized and efficient
Authorized to work in the U.S with a valid driver license

Nice To Haves

Technical, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s Degree pertaining to the Engineering field (Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, etc.) a plus.

Responsibilities

Complete assigned inspection as scheduled by dispatch
Perform scheduled inspection during the time assigned – inspect, review and submit reports according to NYS DOB code and approved drawings
Perform all other duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager.
Ability to travel numerous job sites daily
Prepare and electronically submit daily reports
