Special Hazards Technician
About The Position
Century Fire Protection is seeking a Special Hazards Technician to perform inspections, service, repairs, and upgrades of clean agent fire suppression and other engineered special hazards fire suppression and detection systems. The role also involves initial acceptance testing, programming, and testing of newly installed systems. Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Two (2) years experience
- NICET certification
- Valid Drivers License
- Clean MVR
- Pre-employment drug screen
- Microsoft Office, including Work and Excel
Responsibilities
- Perform programming, start-up and commissioning of Fire Alarm & Special Hazards Systems
- Perform inspection and testing on Fire Alarm & Special Hazards Systems
- Troubleshoot and repair of Fire Alarm & Special Hazards Systems
- Complete inspection reports and service work orders
- Read, interpret and apply technical design requirements of fire protection codes and standards (Such as NFPA 70, 72, 2001 etc.), building codes, fire codes, insurer criteria, and other technical design documents
- Read and interpret building construction documents such as drawings, specifications and other contract documents
- Prepare lists for ordering of Fire Alarm & Special Hazards Systems equipment
- Perform accurate surveys of Fire Alarm & Special Hazards Systems in existing buildings
- Coordinate installation with electricians
- Coordinate activities with project manager
- Supervision of helper/apprentice technicians may be required
