About The Position

This is a part-time position at The Ohio State University. The Special Events Assistant will be responsible for delivering and picking up traffic control equipment before, during, and after special events on the Columbus campus. This includes equipment such as traffic cones, barricades, signage, light towers, and electronic message boards. The role also involves assisting with the operation of this equipment, communicating with the event supervisor via radio, and reporting equipment needs and deliveries.

• Must be able to assist with the function of traffic control equipment.
• Must be able to communicate via radio.
• Must be able to report equipment needs and deliveries.

• Experience with traffic control equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and pick up traffic control equipment before, during, and after special events.
• Assist with the function of traffic control equipment, including starting/shutting down light towers, refueling, and troubleshooting.
• Communicate with the event supervisor via radio throughout the event.
• Respond to radio calls for additional equipment requests.
• Report additional equipment deliveries to the TTM supervisor.
• Perform additional miscellaneous duties as assigned.
