About The Position

This role is responsible for managing the Spooktacular cast and crew for all event dates, which include Saturdays and Sundays from September 5th to November 1st, and Monday, September 7th, from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. The Stage Manager will oversee the daily operations of Spooktacular talent and other Consumer Event Festivals talent, including scheduling and task assignments. Responsibilities include assisting with rehearsals and training, mentoring staff to foster a successful team-oriented production, and providing logistical support for the cast and crew. The role involves developing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), tracking attendance and performance, managing supply requests, and ensuring the safety of all team members through training and proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) usage. The Stage Manager will supervise various areas such as events cast, technicians, costume/dresser staff, daily hours reporting, ambassador coaching, overtime requests, deviation/sign-in sheets, theatrical and technical systems, theater safety, facility maintenance and cleanliness, monitoring show quality, scheduling and running rehearsals, conducting daily meetings, disseminating information, developing team members, maintaining team member records, and managing inventory and procurement of equipment, materials, and supplies. Additionally, the role requires developing and maintaining quality standards, ensuring the artistic and technical integrity of the show/event, understanding all positions necessary for show operation, acting as a front-line management representative, and serving as a liaison with Production, Entertainment Technical, and Operational Entertainment Management Staff. The Stage Manager will also coordinate and implement special events and shows in other venues as needed, assist with entertainment activities and special events outside the park, submit daily reports to managers, and cover for other supervisors or departments as needed. The position requires working in a team environment, interacting professionally with guests and other ambassadors, and performing other duties as assigned.   • Costumed Characters: Personable, animated people with fun, outgoing personalities to bring Sesame Street® characters to life. Share the joy of entertaining children and other guests as a costumed character by greeting guests, shaking hands, posing for pictures, and giving hugs. Costumed character performers also act as a character escort to assist with guest interactions.
  • Dancers: Demonstrate technical proficiency in a variety of styles including jazz, musical theatre, ballet, and modern. Partnering skills, break dancing, tumbling, tap, or other specialties are a plus. Dancers perform in multiple high-energy shows per day to connect with our guests and create memories that last a lifetime.
  • Event Performers: Bring our special and seasonal events to life such as Event Host, Culinary Performers and Santa's Helpers.
  • Instrumentalists: Proficient in percussion, brass, woodwinds or guitar. All instrumentalists should have the ability to play varying styles ranging from pop/rock to Motown to gospel and must be able to memorize music for shows and perform with great stage presence.
  • Scare Squad: Enthusiastic performers, who are passionate about Halloween, to add fun and scary excitement to our award-winning Howl-O-Scream events.
  • Vocalists: Great energy and stage presence who can demonstrate technical proficiency in a variety of styles including pop, rock, musical theatre, classical, contemporary, and a cappella vocal styling. Capacity to hear/sing harmonies is a must. Sight reading skills are not required but are preferred. Vocalists perform in multiple high-energy shows per day to connect with our guests and create memories that last a lifetime.
  • Audition preparation: Learn a dance combination and participate in improve and athletic stamina exercises.
  • Costumed character auditions: Based primarily on movement, non-verbal communication, and physical coordination.
  • Audition attire: Form fitting dance attire that allows a full range of movement and tennis or jazz shoes. No jeans.
  • Prepare a resume and headshot.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety of all Team Members and that all team members are getting required safety training and are using proper PPE.
  • Supervise areas including events cast, technicians, costume/dresser staff, daily hours reporting, ambassador coaching, overtime requests, deviation/sign in sheets, theatrical and technical systems, theater safety, facility maintenance and cleanliness, monitoring show quality, scheduling and participating in or running rehearsals, daily meetings and information dissemination, team member development, team member record keeping, inventory & procurement of equipment, materials and supplies.
  • Develop and maintain quality standards throughout all assigned tasks, special events and show positions.
  • Maintain the artistic and technical integrity of the show/event.
  • Act as front-line management representative.
  • Act as a liaison with Production, Entertainment Technical and Operational Entertainment Management Staff.
  • Coordinate and implement special events and shows in other venues as needed.
  • Assist with Entertainment activities and special events in other facilities outside of the park as needed.
  • Submit daily reports to Managers detailing all show and event related activities and other pertinent information.
  • Cover for other Supervisors/Technicians/other departments as needed on their days off, vacation, absences etc.
  • Work in a team environment and interact with guests and other ambassadors in a professional manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
