The Special Emphasis Programs (SEP) Submarine Safety (SUBSAFE) Program Engineer is responsible for providing engineering assessment, oversight, and support to meet contractual requirements for SUBSAFE engineered products. This role spans multiple Submarine Classes, including New Construction, Planning Yard, and Follow Yard support. Key responsibilities include technical oversight and development of SUBSAFE Program design products such as Instructions and Procedures, technical and programmatic assessment of SUBSAFE Engineering Reports (ER)/Change Notices (CN) for SUBSAFE Design Reviews (SSDR) and deliverables, and support for Ship Specific Certification Audits and Supervisor of Shipbuilding and NAVSEA Functional audits. The position requires direct interface with other EB Engineering Organizations, EB Program Offices, the SUBSAFE Certification Organization, Supervisor of Shipbuilding (SUPSHIP), and NAVSEA. Selected individuals will also receive cross-training in SEP Deep Submergence Systems Scope of Certification (DSS-SOC) work.
