The position is part of the district's Skills program, which serves students who benefit from ABA methodologies. As such, experience with ABA is preferred. The role involves teaching students specific skills and strategies to help them access curriculum, conducting IEP meetings and completing related paperwork, monitoring student progress and revising IEPs accordingly, co-teaching in regular education content areas or teaching substantially separate subjects, preparing students for transition to post-high school life, communicating with school personnel outside the department, and communicating effectively with parents and other stakeholders.
