About The Position

We are seeking passionate and experienced Special Educators to join our growing team. Providers may work with children across Early Intervention and school-aged programs, including infants and toddlers ages birth–3 and school-aged students. Services may take place in the home, community, or school setting, depending on the child’s program and needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in special education, child development, individualized instruction, and family-centered practice. We are looking for providers who are committed to helping children build meaningful developmental, academic, communication, social, behavioral, and adaptive skills through supportive, engaging, and developmentally appropriate intervention.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Special Education.
  • NYS Students with Disabilities Teaching Certification required.
  • Birth–Grade 2 certification needed for Early Intervention cases.
  • Experience working with infants, toddlers, and/or school-aged students with developmental delays, disabilities, autism, or related needs.
  • Strong understanding of child development, individualized instruction, family-centered practice, and evidence-based teaching strategies.
  • Ability to work independently in home, community, and/or school settings.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, supportive, and individualized services to children and families.

Responsibilities

  • Provide special education services to children in Early Intervention and/or school-aged programs.
  • Work with infants and toddlers ages birth–3 and their families in the home or community setting under New York State Early Intervention guidelines, when applicable.
  • Provide individualized instruction and support to school-aged students in the home, school, or community setting, based on each student’s goals and service plan.
  • Implement developmentally appropriate, play-based teaching methods for younger learners to support communication, social engagement, independence, and foundational learning skills.
  • Provide structured, individualized instruction for school-aged students to support academic readiness, functional skills, behavior regulation, social skills, and independence.
  • Foster warm, trusting relationships with children, students, caregivers, and school teams.
  • Partner with families by modeling strategies, offering guidance, and helping caregivers embed learning opportunities into daily routines.
  • Collaborate with service coordinators, teachers, related service providers, school teams, and IFSP/IEP teams to support consistent programming.
  • Complete required session notes and documentation accurately, professionally, and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain organized records, track progress, and adjust strategies based on observable growth, data collection, and team recommendations.
  • Prepare and submit required progress reports, including EI 6-month progress reports and/or school-aged progress updates, as applicable.
  • Participate in IFSP, IEP, team, or planning meetings when appropriate.
