About The Position

Special Education Teacher – Early Intervention (SPED) Location: Queens–NY Company: TheraCare Job Type: Full-Time, Part-Time, Hourly, & Fee-for-Service Pay: $60.00-$68.00 About TheraCare TheraCare has been a trusted provider of Early Intervention services across all five boroughs of New York City for over three decades. Our mission is to support the growth and development of children from birth to age 3 through family-centered, evidence-based practices. We are seeking Special Education Teachers who are passionate about making a difference in children’s lives within home and community settings. Position Overview: As a Special Education Teacher in our Early Intervention program, you will work with infants and toddlers (birth to 3 years old) with developmental delays. You will design and implement individualized intervention plans and partner with families to support their child’s educational and functional growth.

Requirements

  • New York State certification in Special Education (Birth–Grade 2 or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of Early Intervention service delivery models and documentation standards.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel within assigned boroughs of NYC.
  • Hand dexterity ability (ability to operate mobile device, smart phone, computer).
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to travel to various locations on a near daily basis.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with infants, toddlers, or early childhood preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct early childhood special education services to children in home and community settings.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs).
  • Conduct developmental assessments and progress monitoring.
  • Work collaboratively with families and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Deliver family coaching to encourage developmental growth.
  • Maintain documentation and service logs in compliance with NYC EI requirements.
