Special Education Transition & Employment Specialist (Job Coach)

About The Position
Make a meaningful difference by helping adults and high school students with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities build independence, develop skills, and achieve success through community activities, volunteer opportunities, and paid employment. As a part-time Job Coach, you will work 3 to 4 weekdays. Schedule: Varies by department: 7:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. No nights, no weekends, no holidays. The Youth Services program offers the option of summers off.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to pass criminal background checks.
Nice To Haves
- Some post-secondary education preferred.
Responsibilities
- Support participants in developing life, social, and prevocational skills both on-site and in the community.
- Engage participants in meaningful social and community activities, including volunteering, arts, sports and cultural events, and other community experiences.
- Coach participants through job shadowing while developing job skills, confidence, and workplace success.
