This is a Special Education Teaching/Early Childhood Special Education 1.0 FTE (LTS) position. The role involves teaching in a small group ECSE classroom, an integrated preschool classroom, and/or providing itinerant services. Travel between buildings may be required and will be reimbursed per district policies. The teacher will teach the preschool curriculum of Independent School District 196, develop and implement intervention strategies for preschool-aged children with disabilities, and plan instruction collaboratively with all classroom staff. Responsibilities include maintaining good communication and cooperation with staff and parents, directing the work of paraprofessionals, facilitating annual IEP meetings, managing due process paperwork as the case manager, creating a positive and supportive learning environment, and carrying out responsibilities as defined by the master contract and supervisor. Collaboration with others to support students with disabilities in the least restrictive environment, including supporting and performing necessary delegated health tasks, is also a key part of the role.
