About The Position
Hermiston School District is seeking a full-time Special Education teacher for grades 6-8 at Sandstone Middle School. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Middle School level Special Education students. The district's Special Education model focuses on individual strengths, with facilitators handling IEP writing and teachers focusing on instruction and student interaction. Support is provided by School Psychologists, Speech Language Pathologists, and Bilingual staff. The position begins in August 2026.
Requirements
- Properly licensed or ability to obtain licensure prior to the start of the school year.
- Ability to teach Middle School level, Special Education.
Responsibilities
- Teach Middle School level, Special Education students.
- Attend IEP meetings and provide input.
- Work with students to impact them positively within the classroom.
