About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Long-Term Sub from October 20, 2026-March 12, 2027, with EBD licensure preferred, at the ACGC PreK-4 Building. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with students with diverse learning needs and will be committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment. This long-term substitute position requires a collaborative approach to teaching and a strong ability to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) that meet each student's unique needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field
• Valid MN teaching license with endorsement in Special Education
• Experience working with students with disabilities in an educational setting
• Strong understanding of or desire to learn special education laws, regulations, and best practices
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with students, families, and colleagues
• Ability to adapt instructional methods and materials to meet diverse learning needs
• Proficient in using technology and educational software to enhance learning and organize data
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment for all students

Responsibilities

• Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs, ensuring alignment with state and federal regulations
• Create and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation
• Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and parents to support the students’ academic and social-emotional growth
• Assess and monitor student progress through formal and informal evaluations, adjusting instructional strategies as needed
• Provide direct instruction and support to students in both one-on-one and small group settings
• Utilize appropriate teaching strategies and assistive technology to enhance learning experiences for students with varying abilities
• Participate in and lead IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other collaborative planning sessions
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress, reporting findings to parents and school administration
• Stay current with best practices in special education and participate in ongoing professional development
• Foster a supportive and respectful classroom culture that promotes diversity and inclusion
