About The Position

Harrisburg School District is establishing an applicant pool of qualified, student-centered Special Education Teachers committed to helping students with disabilities access meaningful learning opportunities, develop independence, and achieve academic, social, behavioral, and functional goals. The position implements, supervises, and maintains a high-quality learning environment; develops, plans, and implements curriculum, lesson plans, and educational programs for student audiences within the teacher’s areas of expertise; and advises, tests, and teaches students in a variety of academic subjects.

The district welcomes applicants interested in a flexible schedule. Salary ranges from $45,359.87 to $87,503.29, with placement determined competitively and commensurate with education, experience, and work schedule. The position starts upon hire and the application pool remains open until filled.

Requirements

• Valid Oregon teaching license with a Special Education: Generalist endorsement, or enrollment in a Special Education program and availability for district sponsorship into the position.
• Skill in assessing student ability and academic skills.
