About The Position
This role is eligible for a bonus up to $5,000. Forsyth Academy, located in Winston-Salem, NC, opened in 1999 and serves students K-8. At Forsyth, you can connect passion with purpose. Forsyth Academy exceeds local standards with unique teacher support, especially for beginner teachers, offering mentors for new teachers and weekly meetings with Deans. They conduct biyearly staff surveys with administrator-led action steps in response and were recognized for growth in the 2023-2024 school year. The school provides a safe learning environment with locked classroom doors, a Raptor secure check-in system, cameras inside and outside the building, and staff who wear badges and carry walkie-talkies.
Requirements
- Hold a valid teacher license or meet alternative requirements.
Responsibilities
- Provide students with specially designed instruction developed to meet the unique needs of each child resulting from his/her disability such as: a resource room, inclusion, and/or pullout services.
- Participate in professional development that is specific to special education curriculum, along with data tracking tools.
