The Special Education Teacher (SPED Teacher) is a full-time position, though a part-time role may be considered for the right candidate. Responsibilities include planning and implementing special educational services directly to students in the areas of reading, language arts, mathematics, or other authorized instructional areas in the least restrictive environment. The SPED Teacher will work closely with the classroom teacher to modify and/or adapt classroom work, providing targeted academic support to students during the regular school day. This role also involves case management of students with diagnosed needs. The Special Education Teacher is a qualified professional who meets the requirements to work in a Catholic school in the Archdiocese of Denver. This position is hired by and directly accountable to the administration at Bl. Miguel Pro Catholic Academy. The Special Education Teacher is expected to abide by the policies and procedures of the local school, the Archdiocese of Denver, and the Office of Catholic Schools, and cooperate with the principal and staff in providing an environment that promotes the ministry of Catholic education.
