About The Position

The Hawaii State Department of Education is seeking a Special Education Teacher for a Medically Fragile Classroom at Kalaheo High School. This position is for grades 9-12. The department is committed to hiring highly qualified teachers. If hired without a completed Teacher's Education Program, new employees have a maximum of 3 years to obtain a valid Hawaii teaching license and must enroll in a program to continue employment. Active pursuit towards meeting Hawaii licensing requirements must be demonstrated annually. A valid Hawaii teaching license or Emergency Hire Permit is required upon hire.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree (minimum qualification for teacher positions, except designated CTE).
• Valid Hawaii teaching license or Emergency Hire Permit upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Teach students in a Medically Fragile Classroom.
• Enroll in and actively pursue a program to obtain a valid Hawaii teaching license within 3 years if not already licensed.

• Ensure the enrolled program aligns with the teaching line.
