Special Education Teacher
About The Position
Saint John Paul the Great Catholic High School is seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year to teach in our Options Program. The Options Program serves students with intellectual disabilities, including Down Syndrome and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Rooted in the Dominican tradition of prayer, study, community and service, Saint John Paul the Great Catholic High School is committed to the formation of youth with special emphasis on the ethical development of the students. We strive to provide an environment where students can grow in the image of Jesus Christ while developing intellectual, theological, and moral virtues. As a school within the Arlington Diocese, we prepare each student for a life of faith, service, and integrity.
Requirements
- Full-time availability for the 2026-2027 school year
- Experience teaching students with intellectual disabilities, including Down Syndrome and Autism Spectrum Disorder
Nice To Haves
- Degree or certification in Special Education
Responsibilities
- Teaching small group classes
- Collaborating with general education teachers to support students and modify curriculum
- Supporting and training peer mentors
